FRANCISCO BHAGWAN
Although he’s been playing the keyboard since he was a toddler, this is only the beginning for Francisco Bhagwan. Born and raised in Suva, the 21-year-old composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist is known for his eclectic, genre-defying style. Inspired by artists including Herbie Hancock, Jacob Collier, D’Angelo, Hiatus Kaiyote, UB40, Lizzy McAlpine, and Phoebe Bridgers, Francisco brings a fresh sound to Fiji's music scene.
Francisco has garnered the attention of many in the Pacific Islands music scene and abroad, and has since collaborated with fellow local artists including Vā, Ben Masirewa, VT1S, Ju Ben, 4 Quarters, and Kali Tui to name a few.
In 2025, Francisco released his debut EP Mangrove Seed, a universe full of funk, R&B, soul, reggae, and jazz-inspired worlds, featuring the incredible voices of Vā on "Silver Lining" as well as blazing solos from guitarist Ben Masirewa on "140 Degrees". He has since co-founded the Spectrum Collective, with his fellow collaborators Vā and 4 Quarters, who embarked on an ambitious joint tour called "Spectrum: The Vesumona Tour," beginning in his hometown of Suva and culminating in their leg at Adelaide Fringe 2026.
Following the release of Mangrove Seed, Francisco is gearing up for his next musical adventure, his debut album "Ordinary" featuring brand new, deeper soundscapes.
